Architect Alvar Aalto designed the Aalto collection in 1936. It won gold at the Karhula Iittala glass competition, making them the entry work to the Paris World Fair in 1937. Since then, the vases have become an icon of Scandinavian glass design, combining function and art. The new 250mm vase is an original shape from the 1930s with an updated size to suit modern needs. Produced at the Iittala Glass Factory in Finland, each vase is mouthblown to a wooden mould making its surface even more lively and unique. The clear glass reflects the light beautifully. Limited and numbered 2023 piece edition.
